Road and Bridge
With over 800 miles of unpaved roads and over 400 miles of paved roads in Jackson County, the Road and Bridge Department is busy every day maintaining county roads. Through Community Budget Requests, the department has asked the State of Florida to assist in this initiative to improve the roadway infrastructure of Jackson County.
Currently, the Jackson County Road and Bridge crews are actively working to maintain paved and dirt roads throughout the County. Resurfacing projects will continue throughout the 2011/2012 fiscal year. Jackson County has actively pursued grants for infrastructure improvements.
